Ugh, well you can't win them all...and this Konad mani really gave me a hard time. It was extra "smeary" but with the Brewers losing by about 35 points or something, I just didn't feel like redoing this last night.
The inspiration for this came while I was watching the Martin Scorsese directed George Harrison documentary that premiered last week. When I was first learning to play musical instruments (first the bassoon, later the trombone and guitar) I would always try to get my hands on Beatles' sheet music (along with Star Wars themes, but that's besides the point), so seeing some of the original lyric sheets in the documentary brought back those memories and I ended up with this manicure. Sure, "And I Love Her" sounded really shitty on the bassoon, but I attribute my early attempts to play songs I loved with the fact that I stuck with music and eventually grew to love it more than anything in the world.
The documentary itself is well done. It's a pretty standard structure for a biographical doc, but seeing as George was such a wonderfully interesting person it is very intriguing. I recommend it for George fans, obviously, but also to anyone that isn't familiar with how talented and kind he was. He is my favorite Beatle, and beyond that one of my favorite people of all time. I even named my cat after him, so yeah, I was very excited to finally see this.
